All it took was Alain Ducasse to notice his culinary genius, for Alexandre Gauthier to be the attention of anyone who means business in the food world.
At only 30 years old, Alexandre has not only gained a Michelin star (2007) he has worked under Ducasse in the Plaza in Paris and is now leading Ducasse’s Beige Channel in the tower, Tokyo.
Coming from the Provinces, not a lot of opportunity to show of your skills is available but working for such a world renowned figure has meant that he has become a celebrity in his own right to the press in both France and internationally.
Alexandres food is very much contemporary and surprising combining Japanese tradition in a French style. In more recent years Alexandre has carefully refined his cooking style, focusing on cooking the most well known ingredients but in a different, almost provocative way. Simple ingredients as gherkins, broccoli, or brussels sprouts but each time, he aims at revealing new tastes and things that would normally go un-noticed in those ingredients. His cooking is precise, delicate, elegant yet provocative, wild, and robust.
