Massimiliano Alajmo represents the fifth generation of his family to run an acclaimed restaurant.
Born in Padua in 1974, he grew up around the business of fine food and wine and quickly inherited a passion for his family’s cuisine.
Inheriting the one Michelin starred “Le Calandre” restaurant in Padua from his parents (Rita and Erminio) in 1994, Massimiliano took over the helm in the kitchen, with his brother Raffaele in charge of Front of House.
Two years later the restaurant gained its second Michelin star and in 2002, at the age of just 28, Massimiliano Alajmo became the youngest chef to date, to be awarded 3 prestigious Michelin stars.
Alajmo’s cuisine philosophy knows no boundary. His experience is steeped in traditional Italian cooking however he embraces modern technology to maximise on the taste, flavour and texture of his dishes.
With respect for the traditional, he produces a cuisine style with a strength of flavour
that evokes childhood memories and plays with the established combinations of Italian ingredients.
